With 378 square miles of pure wildlife sanctuary paradise, Yala has a jumble of ecosystems. One of 70 IBAs – Important Bird Areas – Yala National Park protects over 200 types of birds, including several that are common in Sri Lanka. Although the tsunami in 2004 ransacked the national park, visitors in present day are elevating, and it’s no wonder why – apart from seeing an abundance of leopards and elephants, there are also ruins that cause the history-lover of antecedent civilizations to arouse.
