Uros Islands, Peru
Uros Islands or more popularly known as floating islands in Lake Titicaca is a unique tourist destination. The islands are home of the Uros, one of the oldest tribes in South America.

You can reach the islands by boat from Puno City and the boat ride is about two hours. Totora reeds are used by the Uros tribes to make and remake the islands. Around ten families live in the larger islands, while small islands house two or three families. Uros Islands are part of the Titicaca National Reserve, which is home to more than 60 native bird species, 18 native amphibian species and four fish species.
