Underwater Museum, Cancun
One of the most popular and unusual attractions in Mexico is the Underwater Museum in Cancun created in 2009. The museum consists of a sequence of carvings placed in shallow waters of Cancun National Marine Park. This is an ongoing project and new sculptures get added frequently.
There are over 400 sculptures by a British artist Jason deCaires Taylor displayed in this museum giving divers and snorkelers an opportunity to marvel at these sculptures up close making the whole diving and snorkeling experience a truly memorable one. Other tourists can enjoy this museum by taking glass-bottom boats.
Though the museum is not very big this is definitely going to be a unique experience for divers as this is one of the best diving sites ever.
How to get to Underwater Museum, Cancun
To dive, snorkel or even take a boat to see the underwater museum you will need to check schedules online and do bookings in advance. Departure is from the marina in Cancun, the duration of the tour is 2 hours and you get dropped off at the departure location after the tour.
