The tallest mountain in the world is undoubtedly Mount Everest. Standing 29,029 ft high, is located in Nepal.  The international border between China and Nepal runs across the summit. It is one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world, yet a peaceful region visited by tourists from around the world.

Tengboche is a small plateau that offers magnificent panoramic view of the Himalaya Mountains, including Everest peak and several other well known peaks. The centre of the village is a field with a beautiful monastery on the left as you enter the village. The monastery is also known as Dawa Choling Gompa. The monastery is the largest gompa in the Khumbu region of Nepal. If you trek in spring season, the Rhododendron flowers are at their best. Out of the over thirty species of Rhododendron in Nepal the most renowned is Rhododendron arboreum, known as Gurans in Nepali. Rhododendrons are botanically related to blueberries, and mountain laurels.

Chukhung is a valley and a village in Nepal, south of Mount Everest. It is a rocky peak above the village of Chukhung. It takes 3 to 4 hours to reach the summit from Chukhung. Take a trip around the area south to Chukhung and the Chukhung glacier, which offers unbelievable views and, you can do some glacier walking. Chukhung valley is absolutely stunning.  Chukhung is the starting point for many a trek up.

Namche Bazaar is a village in Nepal.  Accommodation options are great in this village for visitors. You will also find internet parlours in this village, which makes Namche Bazaar one of the few places in the region where tourists can access the internet. A weekly market called namche market is held on Saturday mornings in the village where clothing and cheap Chinese goods are spread out and sold.
