A charming, small town in Egypt, Taba is located at Gulf of Aqaba’s northern tip. This is one of the busiest border crossings with Israel. This town has a string of luxury hotels all with casino and a bus depot. Taba attracts a lot of tourists every year being a very popular vacation spot. Visitors especially throng Taba from Israel for weekend getaways or en route to other Egyptian cities. This resort city created from rock faces is situated to Red Sea Riviera’s northernmost extreme.

Apart from the hotels, Taba has one water center. Staying at Taba, you can simply relax, unwind, enjoy fine dining and resort activities. Visitors enjoy lounging for hours on the beach. Snorkelling is a very popular activity in this area. All beaches here are man-made and you will find a lot of dead corals. Visitors are not deterred from coming for a vacation to Taba in spite of the recent security threats that have resulted in increased security.

If you love to explore and visit a whole lot of new places, Taba is the place to be in. By taxi or coach, you can visit nearby Petra and Jerusalem cities. Travel an hour and you will be in Eilat in Israel. From Taba you can also visit the Moses Mountains where Moses is supposed to have given the Ten Commandments. All these trips are inexpensive and therefore very popular.

Along with the trip to Moses Mountains, you can combine a visit to the famous St. Catherine’s monastery. Do not miss out the spectacular sunrise over the Sinai desert from the top of the mountain. If you love shopping, do not fail to visit Dahab which is about an hour’s drive away from Taba. There is no dearth of things you can do at this wonderful tourist destination.

All other attractions however pale in front of the sparkling sands and the pristine sea waters of Taba where you can enjoy superb scuba diving and snorkelling. The waters house a variety of turtles, octopus, fishes and dolphins. The corals are protected by the National Park that runs the place. Apart from the occasional camel, sparrow and bird, you will find minimal land based wildlife in Taba. As the area is dry, luckily there are no mosquitoes here.

As soon as you check in at your hotel, check out the activities on offer and book a few such as jeep safaris into the canyons and mountains, biking into the desert, camel rides, water sports including para-sailing, PADI courses, Bedouin evenings and so on.
