Sensoji Temple (also called Asakusa Kannon) is one of Tokyo’s most popular and not to mention colorful Buddhist temples.
With an interesting legend behind the temple dating back to the year 628, the Sensoji Temple is Tokyo’s oldest and one of her most beautiful. Entering the gate is a thrill in itself. Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) is the outer gate of Sensoji Temple and also the symbol of Asakusa and the entire city of Tokyo. A 200-meter long shopping street is sure to enthrall you.
