The convent was improved with more and more parts until it became a massive monastery with the area of somewhat 20 000 sq km. You could say that the monastery has become a small-scale city.
The architecture of Santa Catalina mostly represents the Mudejar style that shows a lot of Moorish influence. The monastery was open to the visitors 400 years later and is still accessible to public. Santa Catalina convent is open every day from 9 am till 5 pm. Entrance fee – $ 7.50 per person.
