Red Beach China, Natures Mesmerising Beauty
We have seen the “Pink Lake”, now its the beautiful “Red Beach” in China. In this case the Red Beach gets its color from a sea weed that changes color from green to blood red in the fall season. So you can just go any time of the year to see this natural wonder. Timing is important.
The Red Beach is actually not by the ocean. It is a large marshy area along the mouth of Liaohe River with the water that is highly salty. Since salt water was traditionally associated to the sea, the name Red Beach was given.
Best Time to Visit Red Beach China
Located about 30Kms from Panjin City which is accessible from Beijing, the marshland remains green throughout summer and early fall/autumn which can last till Early August. So the best time to visit is in September and rest assured you will see the Red Beach in all its glory.
How to reach Red Beach
The best way to get to Panjin City is by train. Again the nearest big city is Beijing. There are several trains that leave in any given day. IT can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on which train you take. The express trains reach faster because of fewer stops in between. Alternate options include taking a bus, though we dont recommend it.
Red Beach Ecosystem
The uniqueness of this water body has resulted in the Chinese government declaring the Red Beach as protected conservation area. A lot of birds and aquatic animals are part of this ecosystem. In total there are over 200 species of birds that come to the beach throughout the year. Interestingly the Red Beach of China is also the biggest marshland in the world.
