Podocarpus National Park, Ecuador
Podocarpus National Park was established in 1982 since most of the territory is covered with amazing raincloud forests which has resulted in a great natural variety.

The park is situated in the highlands of Zamora Chinchipe and Loja provinces in south-east Ecuador. Almost half of the flora and fauna species of Podocarpus can be found only in that region. Mountain tapir, spectacled bear, puma and ocelot are just very few animals to mention. The entrance fee at Podocarpus is$2, but a camping cabin will cost $3 per person. The main two gateways to the national park are situated in Bombuscaro and Cananume where also several guided tours are offered to the visitors of the site.
