Plaza de Espana Attractions
Originally built for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929, this superb semi-circular brick building has towers tall enough to be visible from all around the city. Measuring 50,000 square kms. the Plaza de Espana has so many sights to appreciate, one of them being the four bridges representing Spain’s ancient kingdoms: Castille, Aragon, Navarre and Leon. In addition to being the location for many a movie (Star Wars and Lawrence of Arabia leap to mind) the Plaza was also recently refurbished (in 2010) whereupon fresh additions were introduced, adding to the already sensational beauty of this place.
