You can go on an authentic African safari in either Hell’s Gate National Park or Longonot National Park. Mount Longonot a dormant volcano crater also makes for a good trek. The crater is quite deep and climbing down into it needs preparation. Local guides will assist so its not a problem. Thick vegetation at the crater floor and small vents along the crater border letting out steam makes for quite an experience. Apart safari and trekking, some other interesting places to visit in the vicinity include: Sulmac Village, Gilgil, Lake Elementeita, Limuru and Othaya.

Getting to Naivasha, Taxi Tips
The nearest airport is in Nairobi airport and then it about 80Kms to Naivasha. Taxis can be tricky so make sure you hire one from the official taxi booths. So you need not book in advance. Private taxis try to offer a cheaper rate, but they are not registered and could be a hassle to argue over price after you are half way to Naivasha.
