Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery, Illinois
This cemetery is known for its eerie stories and people still say they see ghosts here. Built in the 1800s and abandoned since 1960s, this cemetery is by far one of the top haunted places in America. Located close to the Oak forest and Midlothian in Chicago metropolitan area, Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery is a target for vandals who have displaced many of the tombstones. Rumours are ripe that eerie ceremonies are performed by certain occultist and satanic groups here. People have reported sighting apparitions and glowing balls and hearing strange noises like voices, groans, squeaks and moans. The quarry pond covered with dark, foul smelling algae, located close to the cemetery is also believed to be haunted.
Bell Witch Cave in Tennessee
Bell Witch Cave in Tennessee is another most haunted place in America. This cave is located close to where the Bell Farm was before. Bell Witch created havoc by haunting the Bell Family in the early 1800s. For decades, the witch is supposed to continue haunting the area according to the locals. Visitors to Bell Witch Cave have reported hearing voices and sighting odd shadows and the witch’s apparition. People also believe that anything you take from the cave including rocks can wreck your life which is why many who have tried have returned the items quickly. Tours are today offered by the former privately owned Bell Farm and Bell Witch Cave.
