Most Expensive Yachts in the World
Watching latest pop/ rap videos or simply footage of free-time activities of wealthy people, you have probably noticed that a lot of them choose yachts not only as vehicles to carry them around exotic islands or places to have wild parties. Yachts have become in a way a proof of well being of some of the richest people on the planet. Which ones are the most expensive yachts in the world?
5 Most Expensive Yachts
With a stunning value of $ 4.8 billion, undoubtedly ‘History supreme’ is worthy both its title and name. So what has made it so valuable? The answer is simple – it’s gold. The 100 foot yacht is actually not that impressive in its size. What makes it so incredible is 100 thousand kilograms of gold that covers nearly everything of it – from the single rail to the base of the yacht itself. You can find some really incredible extras on it: 24-carat golden aquarium, rocks from a meteorite or bones of a dinosaur are just few to name. ‘’History supreme’ belongs to an anonymous Malaysian multi-billionaire. A credible version is that he is Robert Kuok – the richest man in Southeast Asia.
World’s 2nd most expensive yacht belongs to the famous Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. ‘Eclipse’ costed him $ 1.2 billion and it is indeed way much more than just a yacht – besides a 5000 sq. ft master bedroom, 11 guest cabins, a dance floor, 2 swimming pools, several hot-tubs and a sports complex, also a missile detector, 2 helicopter pads and bullet proof windows are installed in this luxury. Indeed, this 557 feet long vehicle seems just like ones we are used to see only in spy movies.
Dubai – The Yacht
The politicians of Dubai are famous for their profusion and incredibly expensive properties. No wonder that one of them is world’s 3rd most expensive yacht. $350 million worth ‘Dubai’ belongs to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who rules the Emirate of Dubai and is also Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. Designed by Andrew Winch, this 531 foot vehicle has a particularly refined design. Pools, hot-tubs, areas for sunbathing, glass staircase, VIP suites, dining areas and even 3 elevators is what makes this yacht so impressive.
Yacht No 4 also can be found in the Arabic lands. Saudi Arabian multi-millionaire, Nasser al-Rashid spent $ 210 million on ‘Lady Moura’. This 344 feet long boat contains a pool and a beach resort sliding out of the one side of it – sand and palms make it truly beach-like. However, the most impressive thing about ‘Lady Moura’ is its impressive interior and 75 feet long dining table.
The Rising Sun
5th position belongs to ‘The Rising Sun’. This yacht is co-owned by Larry Ellison and David Geffen and it cost $ 200 million. The boat is 453 feet long and it contains a basketball court, helicopter pad, a cinema, a wine cellar, 5 storeys with a number of 82 rooms and space for a private submarine.
