Most Bizarre But Exotic Places People Live In
Although today most of the people highly evaluate comfort of their everyday life and surroundings, one can still find places where majority would say it is impossible to live, yet they in fact are inhabited. Here is the list of 6 extreme places people live. Even if you still think that living there is far from being desirable, due to their specifics they somehow have become as particularly interesting sightseeing highlights to visit; however keep in mind that most of them are not so easily reachable by any regular means of transport.
Aogashima Volcanic Island
How about living on a volcano? That is what the villagers of Aogashima Volcanic Island, the smallest village of Japan, are doing. Being tiny and remote (most isolated of all the inhabited islands of the Izu Archipelago) volcanic island in the Philippine Sea, it is difficult to imagine how people can manage their lives living and working on such a place. Indeed, the braveness of the local inhabitants as well gives out many questions since the volcano is still considered to be active (last eruption occurred in the end of 18th century killing most of the locals). Moreover, it is rather complicated to reach the island as it can be done by either using a boat (even for these reasons no harbors or ports have been established because of the steep cliffs surrounding the whole island) or taking a helicopter departing from Hachijojima once a day. Today there are around 200 people inhabiting the island but the number of them decreases each year.
