LDS Temple, Samoa
The Apia Samoa Temple – the Latter-day Saints Temple (LDS Temple) – was the first ever temple to be built in Samoa.
LDS Temple Trivia
It was dedicated in August 1983 but twenty years later was destroyed due to a fire. President Gordon B. Hinckley declared the temple would be rebuilt. And on September 2005, he rededicated the church, with an angel Moroni sitting atop the church’s roof – the same statue that survived the tragic fire. Today it is a beautiful place to visit and worship. It is marvelously landscaped and the temple stands tall and prominent.
