The church was built in the 18th century along with the Monastery of Nazarenas. Built in Rococo style, the church is the place from where the most important religious procession in America starts every October. Senor de Los Milagros, the Lord of the Miracles is the patron of the city and the major deity of the procession. You can find a mural behind the altar in the church, which was painted by an unknown African slave.
