Kyoto Japan Temples
Tenryuji was built in 1339 and was dedicated to Emperor Go-Daigo. The temple itself has been rebuilt several times, but its garden has been constant. It has a centralized pond that is surrounded by rocks and trees. The Ryoanji Temple is famous for its rock garden, though the details about the history are uncertain. There is also Toji Temple which holds a flea market the 21st of every month, giving way to lots of shopping opportunities.
