Known as being ground zero of the World War II bout between the Japanese and Australians, Kokoda track - 60 mile track (Kokoda  Trail) is chock-full of history.

Kokoda Trail Trivia

The Japanese aimed to use this track to claim Port Moresby but were not triumphant. In present day, many treks and tours are seen going through this track. It is not for the faint of heart or for those who have a low fitness level, as there are high temperatures and lots of humidity. An average journey through the track would take up to ten days, but the guides can customize the path of the trek to a degree to make it more user-friendly.
