Aberdeen is a small town located near Karoo National Park. The town boasts of numerous examples of Victorian architecture. The Leaning Tower of Aberdeen is a must see building. It leans by 18 cms. Camdeboo National park is located close to Aberdeen, which is a great place for enjoying walking, hiking, and game viewing. Fonteinbos Natural Reserve in Aberdeen features a natural spring and is home to a range of birds, vervet monkeys, ostrich and springbok.

Graaff Reinet is located at the heart of the Great Karoo. It boasts of numerous sheep and game farms. It is one of the oldest towns in South Africa, which is famous for its magnificent Cape Dutch architectural example. You can find more than 220 heritage sites here. Graaff Reinet is home to four great museums that boast of a collection of firearms, artworks, photographic memorabilia and fossils.  It is also an excellent place for bird watching. More than 250 bird species have been recorded in this area. You can find coffee shops, pubs and restaurants in this town that serve a range of dishes.

How to get to Karoo

Karoo is located close to two airports. Port Elizabeth is 162 kms away from Karoo. The East London is around 256 kms away. Regular flights from Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban to these two airports are available. You can also get to Karoo by car from Cape Town and Durban. The road infrastructure is good in most of the places.
