Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
The entry is free but the experience, priceless. An American bomber chose August 6th, 1945 to drop the world’s first atomic bomb over Hiroshima City. The result was the loss of thousands of lives, further stressing the need for peace then as well as today and how it can keep such a horrible event from happening again. The abolition of nuclear weapons is also focused upon, in the form of the Peace Declaration read by the mayor and transmitted worldwide.
