How to get to Copacabana Beach
Copacabana beach is quickly accessible from the metro. Take a metro to either Cardeal Arcoverde Station or to Siqueira Campos Station depending on how far down the beach you want to be.

The 700 foot Pão de Açucar stands at one end of the beach. Also called the Sugar Loaf Mountain, you can see it just off the coast. Occupying the other end of this area is the old Copacabana Fort. All the way opposite, at the other end of the beach itself stands the Morro de Leme. At 700 feet and with an 18th century fort on top, this is a sight to see.

Try Sugar Loaf Mountain hike, it’s awesome and safe. The view from the top of the mountain is absolutely breathtaking. There are also cable cars that take you up and they are pretty fast. There’s good accommodation available mountaintop in case you decide to take your time to enjoy the fantastic view at all times of the day.
Copacabana Beach Café
Most people don’t know that an outstanding café called the Confeitaria Columbo is located in the Fort of Copacabana. Whether it is breakfast or lunch, coffee or snacks, head here to feast on awesome cuisine, Brazilian style.
Since the city is just behind you, you sure will love the idea of going to the clubs and bars hereabouts and party all night long. For that less expensive choice, there are tourist class options available too. Don’t worry, they’re amazing in quality.
Activities at Copacabana Beach
Photo opportunities, well, think about it. Everywhere you turn makes for a picture worthy of printing on a postcard. All sorts of sports and water events are held here, and you can sun bathe, swim, bike, jog, and participate in soccer on the beach and volleyball too. Music concerts are often held and what could well be the host-location of the largest New Year’s Eve party in the world. Revéillon is a famous festival where Brazilian tradition is delineated and accompanied by a fabulous fireworks display.
