How to get to Amboseli National Park
Amboseli Park is a small game park, but it offers ample opportunities to enjoy an awe-inspiring array of vegetation and wildlife. You can access the park by air and road. The Park has an airstrip for light aircrafts. It takes 3 to 4 hours to reach from Nairobi to the Park via Namanga by road.
Amboseli Park covers around 390 square kilometers. The Park is famous for viewing free ranging Elephants. It also offers opportunities to visit a Maasai village and meet Maasai people. Amboseli National Park Wildlife
Amboseli National Park is home to a wide range of wild animals. Due to long dry months, vegetation is sparse here, which allows you to see the animals well. Cape buffalo, African elephant, Lion, Impala, Cheetah, Giraffe, Hyena, Wildebeest and Zebra are some of the wild animals that can be seen here. It is also a habitat of Mongoose, Wild dogs, Leopard, Lesser kudu, Hyrax and dik-dik. More than 600 species of birds live in the park.
You can also view a host of small and large Kenyan birds. The observation hill allows you to enjoy the overall view of the park, especially the African Elephants and swamps. Streams from Kilimanjaro creates swamps in the center, which host many Buffaloes, Hippos and a range of water fowls, such as Egyptian goose and pelican. You can enjoy the indigenous lifestyle and contemporary Maasai culture in this park.
